What is psychotherapy?

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, Psychotherapy is defined as talk therapy. It is a term used for a variety of treatment techniques that targets to help an individual identify and change/reframe their distressing emotions, thoughts and behavior.

How long will I be in therapy for?

Therapy is personal and different for everyone. Each individual comes to therapy for various concerns and a different goal. I will listen, support and often provide feedback on where I think you are in your process. We will collaborate and work on determining together the timeline that makes most sense for you.

How long is each therapy session?

We will meet on a weekly basis for 45 minutes.

Do you take insurance?

No, I do not. I am considered an “out-of-network provider.” If your plan covers out-of-network providers, you would issue payment of $200 at the time of service and your insurance will then reimburse you. I issue a monthly “superbill” or itemized receipt, which you would submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance to determine if you can see an out of network clinician and what you should expect for reimbursement.

What are your rates and how do you accept payment?

The rate of each session is $200. For those not using insurance, I offer a sliding scale based on financial hardship. Please reach out to discuss sliding scale options. Payments are accepted via credit card and Zelle.
